FAQ

What Is Air-Urea™ Technology?

Air-Urea™ is an eco-friendly water-based coating technology (consisting of 70% water) that replaces solvents commonly found in other gloves, such as DMF, Butadiene, and Ailine, with WATER. This innovative coating provides 360-degree breathability, cooling your hands by maintaining body temperature control and ensuring comfort during extended wear.

Key Features of Air-Urea™ Include:

  • Enhanced Grip & Dexterity: Engineered to replicate the natural feel of the bare hand with each wear, resulting in improved grip and dexterity.
  • Exceptional Cushioning & Ventilation System: Designed to reduce fatigue and enhance job performance, offering outstanding cushioning and ventilation for comfort during prolonged wear.
  • Water & Oil Resistant Coating: This coating provides superior protection against wet and oily applications, optimizing productivity and safety across various work environments.
How Does Air-Urea™ Technology Differ from Traditional Glove Manufacturing Processes?

In traditional manufacturing processes, the journey from raw materials to finished products often leaves a significantly negative environmental impact. This impact is particularly stark in industries like glove production, where industrial wastewater is a byproduct of the manufacturing process. A single production line can generate a staggering 1,000 tons of industrial wastewater monthly. Despite rigorous wash cycles aimed at removing harmful residues, these substances can persist, leading to water contamination and potential health hazards.

At Liberty Safety | H7, we’ve taken a different approach. Air-Urea™ technology has revolutionized glove manufacturing. By replacing bonding solvents found in other gloves, such as DMF, butadiene, and Ailine, with water, we eliminate the need for a wash process. Each pair of ECODEX gloves contributes to reducing the environmental footprint of manufacturing processes, protects hands, and ensures confidence.

What are the 4 P’s?

When asked about the 4 P’s in our partnership with H7, the answer is simple: Protecting People and Preserving the Planet.

How do we Protect People? Air-Urea™ technology represents a paradigm shift in glove manufacturing. By replacing toxic solvents with water, we eliminate the need for industrial laundering processes. This protects against carcinogenic exposure, skin bleaching, and other health concerns, ensuring our loved ones return home safely.

How do we Protect the Planet? By eliminating industrial wastewater, we reduce our carbon footprint, allowing us to mitigate the impact of climate change and transition towards a safer, greener future.

What is Industrial Wastewater?

Industrial wastewater refers to the contaminated water produced as a byproduct of industrial processes. It typically contains pollutants, such as chemical solvents, which pose risks to our health and the environment.

When untreated or inadequately treated, this wastewater flows into aquatic ecosystems, causing water pollution that adversely affects marine life, contaminates drinking water sources, and degrades water quality for recreational and agricultural purposes.

Moreover, industrial wastewater increases Carbon dioxide (CO2) levels during treatment. In many wastewater treatment facilities, microorganisms break down organic pollutants through aerobic decomposition, releasing CO2 as a byproduct.

Additionally, industries generating large volumes of wastewater often require significant energy inputs for treatment processes, resulting in the combustion of fossil fuels and the release of CO2 and other greenhouse gases into the atmosphere, exacerbating climate change and global warming.
